To all iPhone and iPod Touch fans, here is a good news. Geohot is currently working on a tool that can jailbreak iPod Touch and iPhone running on 3.1.3 firmware with latest baseband. With the latest development, it is very highly likely that the upcoming iPad is able to be jailbroken as well.

The jailbreak is all software based, and is as simple to use as blackra1n. It is completely untethered, works on all current tethered models(ipt2, 3gs, ipt3), and will probably work on iPad too.
He is not only claiming that it can be done but also put it into demo video (and of course it meets requirements for a genuine jailbreak video) to prove it which can be found below.
If this thing works on the iPad, it will definitely open to a wide possibilities of allowing the device to multi-task, hence perform much productive tasks.
