This post is not precisely about TuneUp Utilities 2011 giveaway but it’s about an offer to grab TuneUp Utilities 2010 for free. This promotion is originated from a German website so in order to use the German version of TuneUp Utilities 2010. The interface is in German but don’t worry, I’ll show you how to fix it at the end of this post. Anyway, here’s the guide on how to get genuine TuneUp Utilities 2010 for free.
How to get genuine TuneUp Utilities 2010 license key for FREE?
1. Visit the promotional page.
2. Fill in the email form and the captcha. Then hit enter or click on the blue button. You will be prompted to confirm your address.
3. Check your email and click on the link given and you will be redirected to the page (like the picture below) where you will get your license key.
4. To make sure that the software interface is in English proceed with the next guide.
How to change German language to English?
1. Download and install Tuneup Utilities 2010 (ENG version). Preserve the language folder “en-US” that can be found in the following directory
c:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/TuneUp Software/TuneUp Utilities 2010/
After making of a copy the language folder, uninstall TuneUp Utilities 2010 (English version).
2. Download TuneUp Utilities 2010 (German), get it installed and enter the product key that you got from your email.
3. Replace the folder “de-de” with the “en-US” folder.
4. Type in “regedit” in the search box in the start menu and click regedit.exe. Locate the registry key value at the following location
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TuneUp\Utilities\9.0
and select “UlLanguage“. Change “de-de” to “en-US”
5. Restart your computer and your TuneUp Utilities 2010 should be in English.
