Analytics for Twitter which is based on PowerPivot, is an useful freeware add-in. Analytics for Twitter allows user to search Twitter & create Tweet statistics (dashboard views) inside Microsoft Excel 2010. The search combination that can be performed by users includes the #hashtags, @users, @mentions and keywords. These things can be used to search through Twitter using their APIs, depict the tone of the tweets and execute comparative analysis on tweets.
With Analytics for Twitter you can:
- Perform up to 5 parallel Twitter Searches (but it is limited to 1500 results per query/day)
- Customize your views (using slicers, reference tables or DAX formulas)
- Drive ad-hoc analysis of tweets by day, by hour, by tweeters, by @mentions and #hashtags
For what it’s worth, Analytics for Twitter only works on the latest version of Microsoft® PowerPivot for Excel 2010 or Microsoft Excel 2010.
